Superb acting in a great Western

Nice to see Kurt headlining a movie again. It's been too long. He and Jenkins are complete naturals in this gritty, gory violent Western. Wilson as usual acquits himself as well. Only Fox seems out of place. The Cowboys vs. Indians battle is given an original spin here and bloodthirsty savages are given a whole new meaning. Witty with engaging characters and packed with half a dozen truly suspenseful moments. A winner all the way and Kurt once again proves what 50 years of acting experience are all about.

Forgot to mention the amazing dialogue in this movie. Even my wife who normally hates Westerns couldn't stop watching and was as riveted as I was.

Superb poetic dialogue

Just watched it today and had no idea what it was about. It was amazingly good. I would go so far as to say this was not a western. The scale of being along as a group of only a few people was really driven home by the setting and interactions. The movie didn't need to take the usual route of explaining everyones backstory, instead using the situation to let us get to know the people involved.

The only thing I'd disagree with you on is Fox. I thought he played an arrogant man who held himself above and apart from everyone else. Other actors could have done it giving us more charisma so we attacked more to the character, but this seemed one of those movies where they let us feel what it would be like to live with his arrogance chaffing at the collar every day. Yet he still risked his life to help.

The only bad acting came from Sean young. Thankfully she was only in it that one scene.
