Love this movie but that being said why would they burn the Bartok perfectly good castle after evicting the clans? They said they would split that land to the other lord, so now they have to rebuild the castle, just a small pet peeve

shareI think it's because they wanted to erase all memory of the Bartok clan name. If Bartok Castle is still standing, then people will inevitably remember who built it. And then they will remember his honor and defiance.
That, and it's harder to equally divide up the land to the neighboring lords when one of them gets an awesome castle.

They were more than likely going to tear down the tower and bring to ruin everything that had to do with the family, so as to wipe the name from memory over time.
