If it wasn't for guys like Jerry Wexler .....

.... there would be a lot less anti-Semistism in the world. He saw nothing wrong with stealing the FAME rhythm section from Rick Hall, after taking Aretha Franklin to Muscle Shoals. I'll grant you that most Jews from New York don't act as selfishly as Wexler. But a sizable minority of them are, and it leads to the negative stereotype.

It reminds me of the traders at Goldman Sachs aggressively selling those mortgage-backed bonds to unsuspecting investors ten years ago. They knew full well these securities would soon be worthless, but their selfish desire for profit led them to ignore any ethical considerations. And none of them went to prison, so they got away with it! It's the kind of behavior Jerry Wexler would have no problem with ....

It reminds me of Eastern European immigrants pouring into Palestine in 1946, and forcibly removing the natives who occupied the land. (Who bothered consulting with the Palestinians before the Balfour Declaration?) The Jerry Wexler's of the world had no problem with that either. I know that the majority of Jews are good people, but a troublesome minority of them takes selfishness to extremes. Ayn Rand and Jerry Wexler are not people to be admired.

You don't have to act like a bastard in order to be successful in business.

If it wasn't for guys like Donald Sterling (the recently banned owner of the LA Clippers), there would be a lot less anti-Semitism in the world.

Again, I want to emphasize that most Jewish people are OK. But there are quite a few bad apples like Jerry Wexler and Donald Sterling in their tribe, and they cause a lot of ill will with their "me first" attitude.

There would be a lot less anti-Semitism in the world if bigots like you didn't look for excuses to promote it. Wexler was an individual, whose behavior was hardly unusual in the dog eat dog world of the recording business. He and Hall were feuding, and he did what he could to win the feud. It has nothing to do with either's ethnicity, it's the way of that particular world.

To try to link that decades old event to one of the crimes committed by one of the banks during the Bush years, ignoring that most of those crimes were committed by WASP bankers, and then go on to use this documentary about an important chapter in the history of American music as an excuse for an anti-Zionist rant, says much more about you than it does about Wexler, Goldman Sachs, or Israel. Do you wear your Swastika openly, or do you keep it hidden?
