I forgot Winona Ryder was in this.

So I'm wondering who that hot funny city councilwoman is, and then after her third or fourth scene, I realize "That's Winona Ryder!" She completely disappeared into the character.

She's not a star anymore. She's an actress. I wonder how she feels about that?

The way I feel is that I wish they'd build a whole series around her, because I have missed her like hell.

These days, to see her strut her stuff, you have to rent some movie she has a supporting role in, and wait for her scenes to come up. And honestly, I'm not that crazy about most of the movies she's in these days. But I will never stop being crazy about her.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Now that she's been kicked out of office, there isn't much her character can do, except give the main protagonist a look at his future.

Her career tanked because she's too crazy, even by Hollywood standards.

I don't care. She's a good actress. I am glad to see her doing her thing in a good production. She's probably grown up some. It happens.

I have every expectation that she will return in the series more strongly. There are some further events between her character and the ex-mayor that I'm sure will be portrayed. Based on what I read in old newspaper articles they're pretty dramatic but I don't want to give any spoilers. I doubt that she would have taken the role if it only consisted of her appearance in the first episode, even though she definitely made the most of it. It's great seeing her again.

She's already prominently featured in the previews for the last two episodes. From what they show, it looks like she and Nick have gone from political allies to political enemies.

clyons, I had the same reaction as you. I was watching it last night with my mom and I said, "She looks like Winona Ryder". And my mom said, "That's because it is Winona Ryder." Go figure, lol.

I think perhaps, this is the best she has ever done. She seems invested in the character, with utmost respect and clarity. Finally she has reached the status of actress, not a has been startled. Incredible professional upgrade.
