Yup, first thing I thought when reading the synopsis.
shareI've never seen The Beguiled, but after reading the synopsis for it and having read the script of The Keeping Room they are nothing alike plot-wise.

That's because "Cold Mountain" was actually a good (great) movie.
This one does not compare in any way.

It looks to me like a rip off of Beguiled AND that one scene in GWTW where Melanie and Scarlett shot a deserter.
And now we have a parade of Hollywood no talents congratulating themselves on being original.
Having seen both movies, I can say that, other than the time period, the two films don't have a whole lot in common. They are VERY different...
What's going on? What's all this shouting? We'll have no trouble here...
