Newspapers Aren't Dead.

People still buy them a lot. Comics have been in the digital world FOREVER now.

A lot of newspapers have gone out of business. There isn't the competition there once was, which is a big neg, and so less channels for the top comic strip artists to gain attention and capture the public's fancy. It's a lot more difficult in the digital world to get recognized because of the competition, but I think the artist gains more control of their own work and talent should win out. Thus, it's not all negative. There is more freedom for the artist as well as the readers.

I think the baby boomer generation may be the last newspaper generation. My parents are of that demographic and they still subscribe to the city newspaper. I'm a generation-Xer and have never had a newspaper subscription in my life. I get all my news online for free. Out of all of my near same aged friends, maybe a very very small handful will buy a paper on occasion. I really doubt anyone from younger generations even knows how a newspaper works.
