It was the liberals who betrayed the revolution as far as I can see, easily duped by the military to back protests against Mursi to give the coup sufficient support to maybe even fool a few foreign observers it was a legitimate popular uprising and the power is now firmly back in the hands of the military.

Not everything was a waste let's hope, some Egyptians I've spoken too think that the civil society has developed enough to not tolerate Mubarak level-excesses with Sisi, but the fact remains it was exactly the kind of young kids portrayed in the movie that were ultimately used as pawns by the military. They seemed to like the idea of democracy, as long as it was a liberal guy like ElBaradei or pre-coup Sabahi that won, not the MB.
