I wish they would have explained....

(I don't think this is particularly spoiler-y)

...how James learned fairy language. Does anyone now if it was in the books (which I have not read) or mentioned anywhere else?

Are you being naive or are you just ignorant? It's NOT A DOCUMENTARY to explain everything in detail.

Bulls make money, Bears make money, Pigs? They get slaughtered!

Rude. Just rude.

James really did have an amazing knack for understanding Zarina. I agree. How on earth did James learn this language?

Peter Pan can understand Tinker Bell, so it's not an impossible task.
It is unclear wheter interpreting a fairy is a skill that you develop with time or if it's a natural talent that you have to be born with.

According to an interview with the director of The Pirate Fairy, James can understand Zarina because he spent a lot of time by her side as the 'cabin boy' (which would make him the 'first mate' in fact).

I was hoping that they would discuss this but then as the end of the movie came to be, I realized that Capt Hook always had that ability

Doesn't it give you a headache asking stupid questions?

I think in the Peter Pan cartoon movie, capt hook understood tinkerbell when he was interrogating her

It seems like you can learn the fairy language, it only very hard. Also, he did not understand all of what she was saying as one one point when he looks at her she says "... never maind" like if she knows its hard for him.

That said, I loved his character in the movie!!!
