Good movie. The ending was a bit vague and I didn't quite understand it. I also didn't realize that this was the same inspiration behind the Tales from the Darkside episode, perhaps the scariest episode of that series! The only thing I would have liked different is if they did more of a back story of the witchcraft within the family. I think it would have been better if there was a family history of it and if they explored the lore. The whole dark wolf bit was lame and didn't really serve a purpose. On the whole it's a good movie and is worth a watch.

I agree, this movie was very interesting. It had the myths from the hill people regarding witches and the evil spirit. Also liked the use of the book and the Lovecraft imagery in the paintings. To me it was like the seventies horror films about satanic rituals. Loved the weeping book. Finally a horror film that relies on a story that the audience has to pay attention to understand. So tired of the short attention span jump scares in so many current horror films. The story was actually scary. Imagine being left to take care of such a scary woman. Love the Stephen King "let's possess the person with psychic abilities" concept.
