lovely film,I would move to Edinburgh if I did not stay here already.

I don't like musicals and I dislike the PROCLAIMERS because they are Scottish Nationalists and christians but I like their music and am an Edinburgh native.

I went to see this film and was overcome by the emotional impact it had on me,the film is a love letter to Edinburgh,I don't think it has ever looked better on the big screen.
If you know the city you have to try and stop location spotting because the hospitals are not hospitals and the bars are in Glasgow.

So the film looks great, and you forget how many good songs the PROCALIMERS have done over the years.
As for the cast,it is almost perfect, the 2 young guys have been in other things but I don't recall seeing the 2 nurses in much else but they good in their parts.

I have no issues with Jane Horrocks accent, but why not make her English and save her the trouble of doing an accent?,well to answer my own question, she has been in Edinburgh for 25 years so she would have a mixed accent where ever she came from.

Why mention that Mullan's character is from Glasgow?

To go back to locations,I would love to know where the Silver wedding party takes place, and where is the family flat?
The hospital is actually Edinburgh University in George Square I think

To partly answer my own question, there if you google SUNSHINE ON LEITH LOCATIONS you get a location map from VISIT SCOTLAND,it is correct as far as it goes but it is designed to promote Edinburgh(Britain's most beautiful city)so ignores the locations in Glasgow (Kelvingrove Art Gallery plays the Scottish Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh, the taxi they get into is in Glasgow)

All you need now is to be a Hearts fan, and you'll have the full hat-trick...

No I am a Hibs fan.

I'm watching it right now and the Silver Wedding scene looks a bit like a venue in Georges Street that Jools Holland used to have an interest in. I forget the name of it but it'll come to me. It's probably not the same place but it looks like it. It's a nightclub now.
