In Walking Dead they refer to zombies as walkers, is the fact that Keiran's family name is Walker a nod to the most popular zombie show on television?

I don't think it's necessarily a Walking Dead ref per se', but I do think 'Walker' and the astute observation the other poster made about 'Dyer' are definitely cute nods to the fact that these are zombie characters. Walking Dead is huge as huge can be but calling zombies "the walking dead" and "walkers" isn't something unique to the series.
