Did anyone else think that... (don't you hate titles like this? ;)

...they would pull a Tyler Durden on us when Simon got zapped in the laboratory by Victor (Frankenstein ;) I thought for sure that Simon's mind split to deal with the trauma of electrocution (see disassociative identy disorder).

Wait a minute, they could still do that. Think about it: not only the voice was in his head, but the other desciple was also a fabrication of his mind. And not only him either. The first meeting when he called the number and got the adress could have entirely been in his head. After that first imaginary meeting he first started to recruit people for real.

That could work, right? If it wasn't a complete ripp-off that is ;)

Anyway, here's to hope that the rumors of Netflix possibly picking up the show come true! Personally I hope for a direct continuation of season 3 (don't we all).

Some random thoughts and theories for season 3:

The Fight Club scenario would really go too far, it was just a thought experiment anyway. The prophet will most likely turn out to be one of the two scientist. My bet is on Victor (Frankenstein). Could off course also just be the other disciple Simon met at the research facility.

Maybe we finally get to see what triggered the first rising. That's another thing I pegged Simon for when I saw the first flashback. For a moment I thought that he was a reanimated corpse that was part of a military weapon's program or some such.

That wasn't the case with Simon, but the theory of the first rising being a manmade event, still holds water: First they managed to reanimate a corpse with an experimental drug. Then after their success they entered phase two and tried a "controlled" experiment in a little village in the hinterlands where a possible epidemic could be contained, recorded for research purposes and terminated afterwards. Only the epidemic got out of hand and the war started.

Only problem with my theory is, that we never see the risen turn a human, they only kill them. If I remember correctly the first rising is just that: all cemetary inhabitants (all over the world) rising at some point and starting to kill people.

Still, in light of their plot hole track record they could fix this little oversight by showing the rabids indeed turn human beings. Many just go so overboard that their vicitims can't rise anymore, craving the one thing that determines whether their victims will rise or stay dead forever - braaains... ;)

The rising being the cause of a drug experiment gone wrong could also be the answer why they were able to come up with an anti-drug to contain the epidemic. In this scenario the military is responsible for developing both, Blue Oblivion (first sprayed as an aerosol on graveyard(s) and Neurotriptyline. The so called first risen were actually purposefully given a derivative substance after the end of the war. The military had their eyes on Kieren and Amy (codename Adam and Eve) all along. Since they both get their medication from the government, they could make sure that Kieren and Amy get the test drug, because it is bound to their case file when their names pop up in the system. By the time Amy joins the ULA she has already been inoculated often enough with the new compound, so the regular Neurotriptyline isn't having any effect either way. This would also explain why the Norfolk suits come after Amy when they learn that one of their precious test subjects has gone dark, i.e. stopped taking their drug.

And now with Adam and Eve they have completed phase 3: creating an actual super human. Not only a super weapon that can't be killed as long as the brain is intact, but an actual immortal human being. A undead human being whose bodily functions have been reactivated, potentially able to procreate and lead (the elect of) humanity into immortality.

That's all I have for now. Thoughts?
