Is the Fred Character supposed to play a closeted gay person?
I don't know if you picked up on this as well or not, but I thought the film was hinting that Fred was being sexually abused by his dad. From both, the scene with how his dad acted with Teddy and when Teddy told Fred about it Fred replied "my dad's not gay", as well as the scene towards the end with Fred ranting at the drug dealer about why being the guy is not necessarily better than being the girl during sex...I could be wrong though.
