That scene where the car broke down in the middle of the woods, I was thinking "why does this man feel the need to bring his child along?" Even during the beginning he enters the woods with his baby. I feel bad for the baby, the poor must be scared for his/her life.

Same here. That first opening scene killed the movie for me. I couldn't care much for the father after that.

Ah but the women should leave the baby laying in the grass while she tears iron rods off her house.

Just cause you don't feel comfortable walking without falling doesn't mean that other people lack such self-confidence.
