What the hell with the low rating

Great entertaining military sci-fi film, along the lines of Battle LA. Likable characters. Good special effects. The last half hour is non stop action. What freakish nerds gave this a low rating? Ignore the naysayers and check it out for yourself,

I've watched just passed the goat-piece-valley-suicide-bombing-attack bit and I gotta say that, so far, this movie suffers from some serious Prometheus logic gaffes.

Like, aliens attack earth but then it's no biggie that they are still on earth? That whole premise that the world would move on, under equipping their last strike force against what was a world wide attack is absurd. Must be Prometheus producers on set. "Meh, aliens are trying to kill us still, whatev...."

Not sure why they needed to add that bit about surrounding villagers attacking. Makes no sense. If aliens are in the area and attacking and taking the locals prisoner, then attacking your one military post in the area that is there to protect you is nonsensical. "Meh, they don't like us anymore, they're getting tired of the whole thing..."

So, they need every man (sigh) they've got and even the loss of one guy is a huge hit to their squad, but, when the new guys show up, they drop them off miles away from the base when they can just drive them there. Make em walk through unfamiliar territory with no briefing that the villagers may try to kill them and that there are aliens attacking in the area. "Got a map? Then get hiking for several miles soldiers...don't get lost now!"

When one guy gets hit in the armpit, he may die, and needs to be evacuated out, so a transport comes to take him to another location. So, like I said, why not just drive the replacement soldiers to the door of the Outpost? One guy walks by himself through enemy territory and joins up. What's the big taboo about taking them all the way to the door of the outpost?

And, since I'm not much the way through, the other things that nag at me are getting to be a bit deal breaky for me. No women in the squad so, it's like a huge circle jerk of dudes with guns running around being macho. If it's historical, then it makes sense...Black Hawk Down or Platoon or something. But not futuristic wars. You gotta balance it out. The days where men needed to be alone with themselves to be at their most comfy are fading fast.

Then, finally the Battle at Goat Piece Valley. Nobody notices they're missing a guy? They have no way to communicate? It's their interpreter, who just arrived and really has no reason to know the dude's name, that notices he's gone.

Also, the Commander says they're getting low on ammo and goes off with the wounded soldier. So, if that's the case, and they're running out of bullets...why waste a bunch at the beginning to shoot at nothing as a practical joke on the new guys?

It's just stuff doesn't add up.

Dude, you werent paying attention.

The local weren't "attacking" the outpost, they were coherced aka mind controlled to do that so the humans weren't suspecting of the heaviers building up for a second wave, the humans never suspect mind control, they just think this is the locals getting mad at them, that's exactly the way the heaviers mask their plan.

The dudes walking up to the base is only logical, they were getting attacked by local villagers, not heaviers and even some of the soldiers stated they've never seen one.

The newbies will have to know how to defend themselves, they can't be trained on the base, if they want to be on outpost 37 they need to know how to work by themselves first, plus they weren't getting attacked by heaviers lately, the majority of the outpost were getting dismantled, since common knowledge on the movie says the heaviers run out of ammo and there are few of them..

This whole charade finishes as soon as the soldiers get close to the village where the heaviers were "extracting" the villagers for turning them into an army, getting ready to activate the disruptor weapon that will take out the defenses monentarely.

This whole plan fails because one of the soldiers was tough enough to jump through the mind-controller device and alert the other soldiers of this coordinates. They got there soon enough to dismantle the disruptor but only minutes after it starts. I don't see any far-fetched ilogic thing.

The heaviers started showing up as soon as the soldiers got close to the heaviers secrets, why they tried to take them down in different ways, until the ending, when they do a full-blown attack on the base and they succeed in making the soldiers blow-up the base.

If you watch the events closely, it all makes perfect sense.

Dude, you weren't paying attention. The mind control started only later and on in this area, possibly only this base. Do you really think the militaries conclusion would be "angry locals" if only a small area in the entire continent is being attacked by humans?
Did you miss the "traitor" smearings in Salehs house when you weren't paying attention? I suppose the aliens wrote that themselves?
