At a certain point in the movie, I was hit with how much it resembled missions from the X-Com series of video games... small team of elite soldiers you get to know and (kinda) care about, base defense against aliens (and mind-controlled humans), an assault against the alien base, etc. was I the only one to get this vibe?
shareYou're not the only one. I too thought that a lot of themes from XCOM overlapped with the themes in this movie.
The one soldier getting shot while behind full cover and on high ground is pure "That's XCOM baby!"
I could get behind an X-Com movie, but hopefully it'd be better than this
