I love the book, love it! But so much bad language and hedonism, the drugs the sex. This is what drives the book and the character. If it is paired down at all it will just lose it's essence. Any ideas?
It's like Niven read American Psycho, Trainspotting and couple of Ben Elton's and wrote a book by numbers.
So no doubt the film will be utterly derivative; a mash up of hedonism montages, a few moments of laugh out loud cartoon style comedy, the obligatory bleak part, an inner monologue from Stelfox and pumping (britpop) soundtrack.
It will be nothing like we've seen before, if we've not watched a film for 30 years.
I think if they can successfully adapt Trainspotting, American Psycho, Fight Club and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas for example I doubt there'll be much of a problem with Kill Your Friends.
