"That one's Jerry Seinfeld"

The trees that they are talking about having celebrity names... is that something common in the actual location they are in or did I miss something?

Love the movie, love the soundtrack, love it all but I've always been curious about that part.

I thought they were referring to buildings around Central Park. John Lennon = the Dakota, for example.

I am a big DUMB idiot who has never really spent time in NY. Thank you so much, that makes all the sense in the world now... in the movie I literally thought they were pointing to trees and for some reason when they said a line or two after, "lets go meet the dinosaurs" I thought they were just being cute on their date and personifying everything around them... Again, I am a dumb-dumb, thank you so much for clearing that up.

That line is a continuation. "Have you been inside the museum? We could go meet the dinosaurs." He's referring to the Museum of Natural History (where Night at the Museum takes place) which is on 79th Street just outside of the park.

Do the buildings have celebrity names??

reply

No, they were just made famous by their inhabitants. As a poster above eluded to, John Lennon lived (and was eventually murdered in) The Dakota apartment building, on 72nd St. I assume Jerry Seinfeld also lived somewhere surrounding the park, or that Jamie was referring to a building used in the show.
