Any other recent big-name musicals made into movies

Excluding anything from Disney. Also something preferably within the last 10 years, like Les Miserables
I've seen a few Shakespearean plays in English, and most of them dreadfully boring still on screen. I suppose it might be the unrealistically thoughtful monologues. And even some of the more modern interpretation of plays still feel outdated, even though the translation and plot are universally relateable.

Took me an open mind to accept that musical actors sing their feelings to progress the plot, but I got over it quickly while watching the interaction between Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan with context from the supporting scenes that normally couldn't be replicated in a live play. The flashbacks, changing atmospheres and settings really help portray what is happening when you're able to do stuff like that
