Turner weeping at the brothel

Why did he burst in that awful and childish cry while in the brothel? Did he finally snap after his father's passing (it's not that obvious due to the loosely knit story of the film)? Or was it about his loneliness?

I think it was a reaction to his father dying and I also think the girl in the brothel may have made him think about his mother, and more specifically what his dying father said about her.

I don't think it had anything to do with his mother, "the bitch". He was giving a delayed reaction to his father's death. Although when the prostitute tells him she is 22, I thought it might have connected to the funny song the rich girl sings earlier about the maid with many lovers who has just turned 21.

I've read comments on duality observed in this film. That could be another example of it. The girl happily having many lovers juxtaposed by a depressed prostitute that has more than her fair share of "lovers" on a daily basis. There's more to things than it first may seem.
I'm not a huge fan of this film, and it's a bit of a stretch to believe the talk about duality represented in the film... but that said, I do like the idea in a bit of a melancholic way.
