Nice touch

There is a shot where Turner walks in a mountain landscape. It opens without Turner and the camera pans down the mountain till Turner is revealed. While it's panning I could have sworn I was watching a painting. When Turner is revealed it becomes a "real" landscape. I watched it twice to be sure. No doubt all of it is a real mountain but in the beginning a subtle digital filter is applied that adds a painterly touch and is dialled down as the shot progresses.

I thought the same thing. 

Yes! I thought the same.
It's a beautiful scene too.

I checked this film out from my local library.

I also noticed that. Probably the best bit of cinematography in the film. Brilliant.

That was a wonderful piece of morphing. Timothy Spall was ideal to play the artist as well. I hope the rating for this film ups a little. I gave it 8/10.
