OT - Best Movie In a Horror Series

Of the following Horror movie series with at least three or more installments, pick your single favorite movie in each. Remakes, prequels and crossovers count in any series with them as your favorite if it is. Add more series if you'd like too, I just listed some of the major ones for now. Thought this would be a fun little quiz to share with two new PA films on the way and with it being the Halloween Horror season.

My best segment in a anthology is the Zuni Fetish doll going apesh!t in Trilogy of Terror. Also, from Hammer House of Horror tv series, the House That Dripped Blood.

Alien - Can't choose between Alien or Aliens
Predator - Original but love them both
Evil Dead - Can't choose... all great for different reasons
Hellraiser - 1&2 might as well be the same film for me, the tone is consistent and I can't separate them, both far better than the rest of the series
Child's Play - Original
Paranormal Activity - Original
Puppet Master - Original
Romero's Living Dead - Dawn
Return Of The Living Dead - Original
Poltergeist - Original

Tremors - Original

There's definitely a trend there... The only time I could say I preferred a sequel over its original was Dawn of the Dead, and it was close.

Don't forget about the Children of the corn series. There's about 9 of them. Granted, they all pretty much suck so that's a hard one.

Scream - Can't chose between the first two. I really love this serie.

Phantasm - Not yet seen them, but I purchased them on DVD recently.
Evil Dead - They are all just perfect for me but I think I'm going for the second one.
Hellraiser - Original
Child's Play - Child's play 2

Romero's Living Dead - Dawn Of The Dead
Return Of The Living Dead - Only saw the first two but I liked the original the best.

Forgot to say if you liked the original Poltergeist than 2 is also a really good movie worth seeing and Leprechaun 2 is fun if you liked the first.

Yeah I actually saw the second Leprachaun movie. Totally forgot about that. And Poltergeist 2 (and 3) are on my "to see"-list for quite some time now. I really love the first one as a massive Spielberg fan.

My faves are Alien and Aliens, the first time I saw those movies just the thought of going through what ripely endured or being john hurt on that table scared the living *beep* out of me. However by mistake when I was about 6-7 my cousin left a poltergeist movie on her VHS player and I was staying over, my cousin was obviously older than me and was out for the night, my aunt and uncle were looking after me and I was sleeping in her room and decided to put on the tape in the player not knowing what was in it.

That movie haunted me for a long long time as a kid, especially the scene where the guys face starts pealing off in the mirror.

But for recent movies gore wise the Saw movies and Hostel 1&2 are definitely up there at the top for me.

But there was one movie that ticked all the right boxes for me 2 years ago with jump scenes, proper mind games freaking you out and was just great and had what all good horror movies should have in them and that movie was Sinister with Ethan Hawk.

Dark Skies was pretty good too.

When I was younger I was a huge Freddy fan but I wasn't in to Halloween or Jason for some reason I just felt they were all too alike. Halloween H20 was not bad though.

My teen years were scream 1-3 , 4 was god damn awful though!

As for these paranormal activity movies the first one was ok but the rest were pure crap IMO.

Another teen going in to my 20's was The Final Destination movies especially the latest with that great twist at the end (spoiler alert) where it brings you all the way back to the first movie. I loved that twist!

Hellraiser of course Bloodline especially!

Event Horizon was another good sci-fi horror. It's a shame we don't get many of them like that and Alien.

I think that's all I can think of at the moment, the Conjuring was pretty good.
