They definitely addressed the problems with pacing from some of the previous installments. They did a decent job with the suspense and the movie overall scared the crap outta me, so it did it's job.
I dunno, I think this is one of the better sequels.

Totally Agree. I don't really watch the movies to be scared. I'm more interested in the continued mythology and connections between the films. I admit some scenes are spooky and this had decent action in it. I thought this movie was pretty cool for a spinoff.
