Made my family sick...

So I went to see this with my mom, brother and my boyfriend on Saturday.

After about 10 minutes of watching it, my whole family, including myself felt dizzy.

We ended up staying only because it would be a waste of money to leave, but my mom and brother had to just close their eyes the entire time because they felt nauseous.

Never thought a film could actually do that. This paranormal activity seemed a lot more shaky then the rest of them though, in my opinion.

reply

have you watched the other four cause they are all like this. IF you cant stand shaky cameras dont watch it!

Game Over!

reply

I've actually watched all of them. I didn't get sick or anything like the rest of my family members but it made me feel light headed at times.

Maybe because some of the other paranormal activity movies had other point of views, like the security cameras installed into the homes and such.

reply

Sounds like all the people that were complaining when Cloverfield first came out in theaters, puking or straight fainting in the middle of watching it lol.

reply

This happened to me too! I had to leave the theater for a breather and close my eyes for a bit. I own all the other ones but this ones shakiness was ridiculous!

reply

Sounds very dramatic. It wasn't that bad. I didn't even notice it at all. Besides, almost ALL lost footage movies are like this.

reply

Agreed. A bunch of pansies in here.

reply

Anyone saying people are pansies or being melodramatic should actually study on why these people felt sick during shaky cams. There is a scientific reason for this and is very real.

Love how people are so quick to insult others when really they are showing their ignorance.

reply

Well then hey, I'm glad I'm not an ignorant person ;)

reply

And my comment stands, bud.

I am not bothered much by 'shaky cam', and own all the 'PA' films. Also the original "Blair Witch".
But this film was almost too much even for me. They almost seemed to be making it overly shaky on purpose!
My mom had to close her eyes for the last 1/4 of the film! I didn't have to, but it did make it difficult to discern what was happening in the movie.
Plus, while I am not offended by profanity, this film had WAY too many f-bombs!
It detracted from the story even.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Not to sound rude, but duh, it is more shakey. The other films had the cameras stay stationary, so we can see the characters sleep. This one had none of that. They actually carry the camera everywhere.

reply

I'm not to sound rude either, but in one of my replies towards the top I actually mentioned that.

I actually said,

I'm sure you just read the original post, and none of the replies. I just wanted you to know I already thought about that.

reply

I have the luck to not be nauseated from watching shaky-cam movies. Perhaps it's because I play videogames that require fast reflexes and such?

reply

I play video games too! haha.

Maybe it was just a fluke. I mean all those other shaky-cam movies never both me. It's weird.

reply

I play a lot of fast video games but I can't stand any shaky camera movies. They are annoying and a thin mask to disguise lack of talent in cinematography.

I can't agree with that. You need to be better than a tripod to make it work.

Sounds like they are to darn scared of nothing... WEAK!!!!

reply

i watched it and frankly this one is way more shaky than those previous paranormal activities...
they used to attach those cameras on fan or any platform that kept them stationary.
this one is darn shaky!!!

reply

Saw it last night and totally agree, very shaky & so hard to follow. It wasn't Paranormal Activity 5 as we thought but a spinoff of series. Very disappointed as we found it confusing, these people had nothing to do with the other series & apart from one jump it wasn't scary.
However that's just my take on it, others might find it frightening depending on age group, how many horror movies you've watched etc.

reply

I felt the same way dude. The past movies weren't that shaky, but it wasn't that much to make me feel nauseated.
