TIME TRAVEL!!!!!

Was it actually time travel or more of a teleporting door to somewhere else in the world? I don't remember if this movie and the first take place around the same time or years apart.

The first one took place I belive in 2006 or 2009... (I'd have to rewatch) but no doubt this one took place in 2012. At the graduation it says it was June 12, 2012. So there is a major time laps. I thought this one was good and enjoy it very much, and it was a cool idea to have the twist at the end, but the film makers should have paid more attention. Or maybe they thought no one would notice....

In the beginning, when they find Ana's journal/spell book, they talk about the door and say something like "if you build this door, it let's you travel through time.". They also mention it will only take you to "unholy places.". So, yes, it's like limited time travel.

It broke the movie!

This is where you can tell the writer is making it up as he goes along. It's gone from clever and entertaining to absurdity. It's a real reach to tie the series together, but a really bad, bad attempt.

Showing how Micah was killed by Katie was unneeded. Why would a demon, with the ability to twist a body in half, levitate a body and slam it to the ground, kill a man with a butcher knife? Our imaginations were probably much more creative with what was unseen at the end of the first film. We probably imagined much worse than a fatal attraction knifing.

The references to Katie and Kristi (Finding the photos & tapes) proved a vacant reference that went nowhere in explaining anything. Two different films referencing each other is all it was. It tied together nothing.

All it attempted to do was explain the motive of the coven, by marking unborn sons and then using them as a host for demons when they come of age. If you recall, to complete the process, a virgin sacrifice must be made, so where the boars head came in just gave the props department something to do I suppose.

This film is what you call Dragging It Out. It was also the first one to include CGI special effects which broke the third wall and took it from the lost footage genre to full blown horror film.

Keep making that cash.

What do you mean it was the first one to use CGI? Every single last friggin' movie in the series used CGI including the first! That demon Katie face in the first one wasn't a friggin' practical effect! Hell the scenes where Katie got dragged out fo bed had CGI! There was clearly a person there dragging her out of bed who was then removed digitally. There was tons of CGI both subtle and overt in the whole series!

"Broke the third wall"? I've heard of "breaking the fourth wall" in a movie, but never "the third wall." Please explain and disconfuse me.

I really like how they incorporated time travel into this movie. I wonder if it was inspiration for the new Blair Witch. The first Blair Witch movie heavily implies time travel but it doesn't come right out and say it's happening until the 3rd one.
