Is this watered down?

How does a story about JB get a PG-13 rating?

I can only conclude that this story is scaled back to the point of it being only half of the truth?

I've never read a JB biography but I know enough about his history to know that any FULL, accurate portrayal would warrant an R rating.

Drugs alone; if they accurately show his PCP smoking and cocaine use that would warrant an R.
I know of his strict policy to start out but he is open about his own use of drugs after that policy quickly subsided.

Not to mention his crimes, jail time, and all the domestic abuse issues.

I have this DVR'd. If it's worth the watch can some please tell me that it's not watered down to the point of boredom?

If you are expecting a great movie - you will be disappointed

I'd say a little watered down but enough there to make it worth watching

6 / 10

It's about his early career before all his troubles

Some of JB's not so great moments are not so much omitted, but they seem to be glossed over. For example, there was his PCP induced car chase. The movie did not really show JB's drug habit before that. It was as if one day, he just decided to smoke some PCP and lead the cops on a chase.

It's watered UP! Everything is at 11, every reaction, every audience, every *beep* story. Life is NOT like that, even for guys like me in the music biz for nearly 50 years. What's more, his TEETH and his HAIR are so cheap and artificial I just wanna punch him ALL THE TIME.
This is a pathetic caricature of a musical genius/nutcase. Great music though!

If you're saying an R rating would have made this movie better, then the answer is no.
