Chadwick Boseman did an excellent job.

I thought that Chadwick Boseman did an excellent job as James Brown.
I saw, on this Board, that some people disagreed on this point, however, the way I look at it is this:... What OTHER actor could have portrayed James Brown for this movie?

Anyhow, to find an African-American actor who can DANCE, SING, and ACT, plus to find an actor who could look like James, would be extremely difficult. In fact, I can't imagine another actor trying to portray James Brown as well as Chadwick did.
In addition, I really enjoyed this movie and was not put off at all by the "flash backs".

Any one else enjoy this movie as much as I did?

Boseman was fantastic in this film. I didn't particularly care for the breaking the 4th wall aspect but the film itself is one of the better biopics to come out in years.

Saw it in the theater, and I've watched it a number of times now that it's been on HBO. Chadwick Boseman is an extremely talented dude....the real deal.

He was good as Jackie Robinson in "42," and I'm sure he'll be good as Thurgood Marshall. He's clearly a chameleon.

Yes he did!!! This movie has spirit and is delightful to watch with great bits of history. This movie is powerful! I hope so many more people get to see this film! Great cast, acting and photography.

AGREED! Chadwick Boseman was perfect! Very believable portrayal of James Brown. Especially as he aged with the wigs, the famous one piece suit and his body build.

I really enjoyed this movie. And they did choose the RIGHT actor.

People who said: What OTHER actor could have portrayed James Brown for this movie? Have no idea what they are talking about and just love to hate this movie and the actor.

That thread needs to be shut down!

Always look for the positive in every situation.
