Another perfectly fine installment for P.A. films - I gave it an 8

This film was no where near as bad as the hysterics attempted to make it out to be. I advised people after P.A. 3 that if you had any problems with any of the first three films, don't go to 4 & 5 - [and then make jackasses out of yourselves on these chat boards].

These P.A. films are for the true fans.

Loved the new special effects too.

I enjoyed it, gave it a 7. I'm only a fan of the last three movies.

reply

So, you did not like the 3 first, but kept on seeing them??
I never understood this! I only saw the first Hostel and the first Wrong Turn and both sucked so bad that I didn't want to waste another second on those franchises.

I enjoyed and loved 2-4. This one, was a big horrible mess.

It was no paranormal activity film, it was something else, but not paranormal activity.

I respect your opinions Moon and Glad. Good points. P.A. 5 needed more effort in story line development. The special effects were new and interesting.

reply

I will admit, the visual FX had potential, but unfortunately they ditched the story and just focused on the effects, but even then the ending climax fails painfully and becomes cringe worthy with the CGI monster and hands, very flat acting, contrived and strained, lack of use of opportunity and tried to beat the stunt scale of the previous movies but it ends up failing, miserably, I mean, I'm not even proud of it, it physically hurts me to see it all go down the toilet. But my spirits for Paramount aren't completely tarnished as I know that had they went with the original writers of PA and the classic cast of Ms Featherston and Ali Rey, it would of been a satisfying conclusion, not like we can find out what would of happened anyway. Oh well.

Thus cementing the idea that you have terrible taste. Under no objective criteria is this movie worthy of an 8.

If you're on this message board complaining about the 5th installment of a series, then you're an irrational idiot that should have stopped watching these films after the first one.

reply

Who cares if people talk smack on imdb boards? Are you losing sleep over 'the irrational idiots' posting?

Jesus Christ, you sound unhinged. Go take your meds.

It was nowhere near as bad as people say. I think they could've done without the spirit camera business because it came across as kind of cheesy, but other than that it wasn't too bad. I especially like the time travel element and the traveling through different dimensions. I find things like that to be very creepy.

reply

I really enjoyed the time travel and dimension travel elements too. I also loved the mythology running through all the movies. I really liked Ghost Dimension but I feel that there was too much time spent messing around with the spirit camera instead of bringing more to the storyline especially as it's meant to be the last one in the series - I wish that they had focused on answering questions for the fans and really delving into the mythology - that, for me, what was made me come back after each movie.
