Do all middle-class Americans have houses this huge?

One thing I couldn't get over in this movie was that the house was a friggin' mansion. Since the PA movies always feature middle-class families, I was wondering if American middle class families do tend to live in these ENORMOUS houses. It had a bloody walk in pantry for gods sake!

I know I'm probably wrong, but it would be great to get confirmation :)

No. Me and my wife sure don't lol. But a regular ass house won't sell it seems

Hmm okay :) Even the houses in the other films are pretty big. I suppose bigger houses are creepier...

Definitely upper-middle class at worst.

No. Those houses in these films are all over 3000 square feet and likely close to half a million. Definitely well into upper middle class if they dare consider themselves that. I'm true middle class and the houses these people live in are in the richest neighborhoods of my city ... Places I only earn enough to cover the taxes.

I think they use these houses for the convenience of the space. If you also notice, these people never seem to go to work in these films either. Definitely not true middle class.

this is california! that house would price at a minimum of $2million! even if it had notoriety of murders or ghosts.

Do you want to see scenes of them working besides the scenes of empty corridors and of nothing happeninng? although, now that I think of it maybe a scene of someone leaving for or returning from work could .....forgive me for repeating...could work :-)

In this film, I thought I remember the father saying, or at least referencing, that he was a programmer? They could easily make 6-figures. In the original, Micah was doing some day-trading, which can be a roller-coaster financially, but could work out well for some. And wasn't it part 2 where they owned a fast-food restaurant or something? Again, pretty decent money normally.

Hell, this movie shows that the house was built for Tobi. He's the greedy one who needs all that square footage for his floating around. He needs the space to constantly swing chandeliers after all.

They tend to feature UPPER middle class families. Most people in the middle class do not live that well.

I'd think that the house in this movie was offered to the family at a cheap price, since the coven was so hell bent on having them in that house.

Altho the family in this one has a lot of gadgets and pricy items, so I dunno.

I don't want the world. I just want your half.

They did, in the 80s. Now after Obama the middle class is now the poor class.
