I heard sometime this year. I've been promoting the project amongst my friends and school classes. I really hope this gets released

Vashti, his wife, flew out this past weekend to see the finished film. She viewed it twoo days ago. She is in LA as we speak. We won't know yet when it will be released but they are hoping to take it to some festivals, Cannes, etc. and hoping I believe to find out who will distribute it and in what form and what languages etc. They don't know yet if it will go straight to DVD or if it will get played at theaters..it depends on many factors. I am so excited and anxious to see it. I think they may be shooting for a summer release. I know it will be a beautiful movie,but, very sad as well. Andy was an amazing person and his wife is very much so as well. So many people need to see it...the more the better so I hope millions will have access.

where did you read this I have been waiting for this to come out for so long and every time i check the official website there is never any updates on a release date but they talk about screenings and what not, just put it on line put it on youtube or net flix this should not be about making money on this project especially since it was almost complexly funded by the fans from kickstarter it being one of the highest earning projects ever on the site. just get it out for the fans. let it inspire already

It took a long time because they had to do a lot of editing. Also I think they are/were looking for a distributor. They've encouraged fans to let film festivals in their area know that they want to see it.

The website doesn't update. You have to sign up for updates. Or follow their Facebook and/or Twitter.

The first time I saw it was set for this year was in this article in September:

The movie, featuring members of the cast of Spartacus:Blood and Sand, is due to be released early next year.

Then near the end of December on their Facebook. I also got this update in my mail since I'm signed up for updates:

I agree, I have been waiting so long that I actually forgot about it until today. Not sure Kickstarter was the right route to use for this, as I have heard many contributors felt a bit salty that so long has gone by and not much updating. Should have allowed those that contributed to view it at completion. Don't mean to be critical, but this project would have had more impact had it been released sooner. RIP, Andy. 👼💐

I'm dying to see this documentary. Spartacus just got released on Netflix and re watching from season 1 since its been awhile and remembering all over again how great Andy Whitfield was. It was his portrayal and aura of Spartacus that sucked me in the first place. I agree this story needs to be told to help people deal with having cancer or loved one.

The documentary is finished and in June 2015 will be presented at the Los Angeles Film Festival. Lilibet Foster the director and Vashti Whitfield, Andy's wife, made the announcement earlier this month.

I am being diagnosed with lymphoma also and hopefully I will get to see this movie and his battle with this disease. I might not be a great actor as Andy but I am a father and a husband and in there eyes I am a star. Can't wait too see the film.

I need to see this. Man was so iconic as Spartacus. Once I seen it I immediately went online to see what else he did. He had true screen presence. I watched the YouTube film called be here now, which is about six minutes long. Very touching and sad to see him lying in bed. Bought Blood and Sand and watch it over and over again.

Hello,

I just saw the film which is was so beautiful, here in Santa Monica, California last week with my husband. It was the best documentary I have ever seen. I did not want the story to end. I would love to buy the DVD. Will it be released on DVD to be purchased?
