Who was the woman who brought the customer his drink at the start of the movie?

When we see her in a close-up around 1:28 in the movie it appears she has a scar on her neck, as though she survived a knife attack.

Was that ever explained? Did it have anything to do with the serial killer? Was she a victim who got away?

The woman at 1:28 and the woman around the 3:00 mark who has her throat cut by the killer are one and the same. My understanding was that the scene at 1:28 was present day and then Choi has a flashback to his encounter with the killer. Hope that clears it up.
