I like the show very much but they do act likr they are in there 20's and have problems that usualy you get in your 20's
Most of them are single and dont have serious relationship except for terry crew. None of them are emotionaly mature. Rosa with her teenage bad ass attitude " not cool saying i love you".
Jake is broke and owes money to everyone at the precinct.
Its maybe a personal bias but they party a aweful lot.

shareSome people think that when a person reaches a certain age that they should behave like such, but that comes down to their personality, maturity, likeness and mentality. Being 30 doesn't mean that you have to completely change how you are or think.
I like to play games that a 5 year old would be into, does this make me not act like my age? No.
I like to watch Pocoyo/Lazy Town that a 5 year old would be into, does this make me not act like my age? No.
And so on.
Speaking of Pocoyo, that show seems like it wasn't developed for children primarily 'cause of how looney it is but hey, kids and adults love it so whatever age you can too enjoy.
I like that aspect of the show. It's not as though you turn 30 and all of a sudden you all have your all *beep* together. Detectives are pretty much only portrayed on TV as being very serious individuals, who have no personal hang ups and rarely have a laugh with one another. Whilst the nature of their work is very serious, they are real people at the end of the day. I work in an office environment and we make jokes at one another's expense, have fun, support one another and yes, share a few drinks together at the end of a hard week. These things are important in order to help you manage long hours and demanding work - I'm sure it's no different down at the police station (not to the degree shown in this show, but you get the gist).
shareLast year I was the victim of a crime and ended up having to spend a couple hours sitting around with the detective. With too much time to kill we ended up throwing lines from this show back and forth to each other. Both of us were in our early forties. When you have too much time to kill and having to face the evil side of the human race, it's pretty amazing how quick your mind goes GTA on you. This is coming from a woman who works in a library lol

One of the show's funniest parts is how immature the characters are, so it's necessary for entertainment. Like how neurotic Amy is, or how jealous Boyle is when Jake has a good friendship with someone other than him.
