Is Nicolas Cage nicolascageing in this movie as always?

You know what I mean!
So is he as hilariously over he top as in most of his other movies, or is he just boring and the movie not worth watching for him?

Yes, I know exactly what you mean, and the answer is "No". If you're looking for another Wicker Man, you'll just need to keep looking. He has one Cage moment, where he suddenly screams (for no particular reason) "Either the world has gone crazy or I have!". Other than that, he phones it in and collects his paycheck.

If you look in his face, you can almost see the regret over the life choices that led him into so much debt that he's forced to make crap like this to avoid bankruptcy.

O.k., I understand. It's really a pity (somehow).
Is the movie at least "so-bad-it's-good" in another way?

Not really. That's basically why I watched it, and I was disappointed.

It's mildly entertaining to see how much contrived nonsense they throw in to inject tension into flying and landing a plane with one qualified pilot instead of two - something which is a minor inconvenience at worst, but that's not really enough to hold your attention.

Mostly it's just so bad it's bad.

If you want "so bad it's good", I recommend the 2000 version with Kirk Cameron.

Sadly not, that could atleast have made this travasty funny.

O.k., I think I will skip this one.
Thank you, guys!
