A Work of Art

I took my son to see this and we thoroughly enjoyed it. My son played at this year's U.S. Kids World Championship and even though he didn't do as well as he'd hoped, he is already looking forward to next year. He got to meet Allan Kournikova and Zama and they are really swell kids. They took the time to have their pics taken with my boy, and I was really taken aback at how kind, polite, and humble Allan was.
The film was very well put together and "kept it real". These kids put a lot of work in and the parents are very involved. I can related to Tigress' dad in that golf can be a path that leads our children to greatness. There are many opportunities that in the sport that can open many doors to living a successful life.

I just saw "The Short Game" and have to say that it is a remarkable film. And this is from someone who has never played a game of golf in his 61 years! I have, however, made a good living in the film industry for 42 years and coached young athletes for over 40 years. I encourage anyone who understands the meaning of the word "passion" to see this film. This is not just a story about golf prodigees. This is about dedication to excellence. It is about sacrifice and focus. And it is entertaining as hell! I was emotionally involved from early on and completely enjoyed how the filmmakers choose to present the ending results. Gene and Roger would certainly have given this "two big thumbs up!" I already know what's on my Christmas shopping list if they come out with the DVD before December 24th!
