Why is she crying?

So many things in this film were unexplained and/or unmotivated. After their first time in bed together, which, it is established, went well, why does Keaton suddenly burst into angry tears? Is it just because her character seems to cry at everything? Was something cut from the scene that renders it nonsensical? Douglas does and says a lot of boorish things in the film, but none are in evidence at the start of this particular scene.

Also, for the rest of the film Keaton criticizes Douglas for leaving the bed, but SHE is the one who left him alone in the bed. I watched the scene twice in an effort to understand. Any explanations?

One more question: What on earth does the title have to do with this movie?

reply

Wow. Maybe try watching it again, and listening to the dialogue? It explains allot. Just a thought.

Did you actually watch the movie??

I'm actually with the OP on this one. She seemed to be crying before he even says he's going to leave. And he's lying there awkwardly trying to think of things to say, nice things. But she just cries. So he's like uuuuh okay I have to go...and then she flees sobbing.

Then the rest of the movie it's made as if it's so obvious that he was a total d-bag in that scene. I was confused. I mean he lives literally next door and his granddaughter was alone in there. It's not like he was some dude that just banged her and ditches in the middle of the night, never to call again. She was acting weirdly after the sex and he seemed uncomfortable so was like kthxb.

Maybe not totally the best reaction, but I think she was overreacting in a confusing away about it.
