Loved it!

Just watched this for 2nd time and will probably watch it again soon. I absolutey loved this film especially as by all accounts it remains pretty much factual... my only gripe is (and it is a very petty gripe) the actor playing Alex - as good as he was - didn't physically resemble him at all. They got everyone else spot-on especially his wife, but something was missing and therefore distracting... Alex had quite a menacing appearance for his frame, something in his eyes that this actor didn't get.

And then there was the hair... now this may sound REALLY petty, but Alex had quite an iconic hair-do and given the attention to detail (and highlighting Davis' change of hairstyle) it seemed odd to have not gotten that one thing right.... like I said, petty but (for me anyway) distracting.

All in all though, having been a young snooker fan in the 80's this bought back a lot of memories of meeting a few (Alex included) of snookers finest. 9/10

I thought the same, from memory Higgins used to sniff more and slur his words almost as if he couldn't be bothered talking sometimes.
That being said I thought to replicate the Higgins character would be a hard task for anyone, the one which stood out for me was Davis, so realistic was he it was almost comical.

Replicating Higgins was a hard task, but done very well - as I said, my (petty) gripe was in not replicating the iconic hair!!
