Oh I see what ya did there, Anne

"It came true..." A play on the "I dreamed a dream" song. Aha! So clever. And to think you have only been working on the speech since December! In all seriousness, ick. Her acceptance speeches are nauseating. For such a great actress, her humbleness is less than convincing. In related news, I was presently surprised by several of the speeches-even those from lesser known winners. I enjoy those that are truly humbled and emotional. Tissues, please.

I agree. I really like AH but hate her speeches (same with Clare Danes, who rat a tats on and on...)

I enjoy more off the cuff, authentic, not overly rehearsed speeches myself. Daniel Day Lewis is enjoyable (he's come a long way, he use to say very little.)

More favs:

Tom Hanks
Meryl Streep
Kevin Costner (sometimes)

I liked her speech.
I think Daniel Day-Lewis's speech was best, tho.

Kudos to Ben Affleck too.

I still do not understand what's wrong with her speech? Why there's such a big fuss about it? I thought her speech was wonderful, very heart touching and it was very profound the way she closed her speech indicating that misfortunes of Fantine still exists, it was very meaningful which reminds me about her present misfortune, the hate and bashing she is getting these days.

May be we're just not used to profundity anymore.
