Just real happy for Shia...

Ever since I was a fan girling 13 year old, going to the cinema 7 times in 2 weeks to watch Holes, I have always known that Gary Oldman is Shias idol.

So the fact that they are now doing their second movie together, I'm just like... Man Shia, I'm real happy for you, like this is a dream, good on you.

And it will be an epic film! Trailer ASAP

I loved holes. I still watch it when it comes on TV and I bought the dvd lost it and bought again. It was a good family movie. I too love Shia especially in Disturbia and Eagle Eye.

I really like Disturbia and Eagle Eye, too! I don't know what all the Shia hate is about. I really enjoy watching his movies.

reply

The hate is that everyone on this site thinks they are some world class movie critic and they and only they know good cinema and anyone that likes what they dislike must not know cinema. Buncha morons. I tune that nonsense out. I know what I like and their opinion is null and void when it comes to what works for me. I think Shia is a good actor, period.

People 'hate' isn't really about his acting but more about what he does in real life.

Spitting on homeless people, getting drunk and start fights in bar, wearing a paper bag on his head at Oscars, insisting of not taking showers during 'Fury' for realism ( even if we can't smell him, but his co-stars certainly do ), etc..

Beyond that, he's a great actor, just not a great person.

reply

Yeah none of those are big deals except the homeless one, which you fabricated.

He actually was trying to help the guy.

He is a little loopy, but his heart is in the right place.

I guess all that LSD he took while filming "Bobby", must of done some permanent brain damage...:-)

Good for you.

I'm not really a Shia fan or hater. I would say that some people may also dislike him because of his troubled private life-made-public.

reply

No, stupid. The hate is for his off screen douchebaggery!!

First saw Shia in the film CONSTANTINE, and while I didn't like the film that much, thought he was lively in it. Both DISTURBIA and especially EAGLE EYE showed me that he was definitely an actor to watch----very charismatic and intense, and fun to see in whatever he was in. I think he's gonna be the next John Cusack, and I've never thought that about any other actor, period. Dude definitely has some mental problems, coupled with the fact that he obviously wasn't handling fame too well (like way too many other famous actors/actresses before him.) Since he's been quietly laying low this past year (hopefully he finally got some help) it'll be nice to see him back. Incidently, this is the third film coming out within this past month about war---the other two are HACKSAW RIDGE and BILLY LYNN'S LONG HALFTIME WALK.

JUST DO IT!

None of the 5 actors involved in Fury took showers. Not just Shia.
Whats wrong with spitting on homeless people?
All they do is steal, beg, bother people and get drunk.

reply

LOL

reply

I think he is a great actor. He is weird dude, but I don't see a problem with it for the most part. Spitting on someone is pretty childish for the most part, not exactly sure what went down with that or if it happened though.

Hows the pie?

Sooo good.

reply

unfortunately the movie is a huge bomb that is hated by critics

reply

Honestly..............

I think Shia is probably one of the greatest actors that is around right now, and especially
one of the greatest up and coming(although I think he has already made it)

From the moment I began to watch Even Stevens(and I was probably like 30yrs old then), I knew
that kid had serious chops. I can care less what he does off screen.
Those same people that try to crucify Mel Gibson becuase he is a lousy drunk, are the same
people that like to give Shia hate.

I'm happy for him as well, I hope he has many more years to come in Hollywood(and in films in general).

reply

Well, he just got married this past summer, and in an interview he said he was real happy about it---maybe that helped to calm him down some (that and some new meds, naturally.) With his past behavior, I wouldn't be surprised if his fiancee decided to get a psych eval from him before they tied the knot, lol.
