90's? More like 80's

The feeling of this movie seemed to be 80's, even though it's supposed to be set in the late 90's. Like Kristen Wiig, for example, she wore clothes that were very 80ish and Reebok high top sneakers. Plus, her hairstyle. Also, David and his fiancé...her wedding dress was also very 80ish.

I thought the exact same thing. It's like the purposely made it look even older than the actual timeframe it was set, to emphasize that this was "way back when" (even though it was only 20 years ago). Even in backwoods, hick places like where this took place, they still didn't dress and look like that in the late 90s.
