Great documentary

I thought this documentary was great. I learned more about our government through evidence and commentary and the god-awful actions of greedy people. It was heartbreaking. People who believe in their power from money have no empathy. It is the sad state of affairs in our country. Everyone should see this documentary! Don't be ignorant, know how our government is working.

I have scene several similar films and found this one OK. I guess if it was the first time I was exposed to these ideas I would be more impressed. I did appreciate the insight that a large part of the effort by corporatists is sleight of hand causing middle class to largely blame "poor people" for their lack of prosperity. I have witnessed this first hand. Even the bit about Teacher's Unions (which I largely dislike as they protect some very bad teachers) made me rethink how we blame them for benefits rather than expecting competing benefits in the private sector.

In the end it was an OK film with some quality content, but like all these films it's propagandist in nature itself, and never honestly acknowledges it's own bias.

We're doomed.

I agree - it was a great documentary. And it did provide an interesting look at the lobbying process.

Gibney also made a more detailed doc about the lobbying process ... The Casino King (I think) about that guy Abramoff. Scary stuff.
