shareHow do you know that?
shareI read it in a synopsis for the film from director.I'm looking for the article now! I thought it was strange to hear. The character didn't come across as a photographer.
sharealso given when she took out her camera - he makes no mention of it - and most photographers especially on a trip like this would always have their camera on them - more than one likely.
shareHe does mention it. He says: "Ah, you're one of them" when she picks up her camera, pointing out it's an lomography style analog camera, which could be a pun at her for being a bit hipster-like.
I'm a photographer and (perhaps surprisingly) pro photographers usually take less pictures on vacations than non photographers. (I have no statistics proving this, just from personal experience and talking to toher photographers).
Why? Several reasons, one is I'm not at work (= camera's off), other is that taking pictures steals focus from being in the present (which photographers are very aware about), and also... tourist pictures are usually quite dull.

True. Family (and friend) pics are valuable, but most of the time I don't care about my pics after they've been taken—especially impersonal tourist pics, yes. A few are obviously valuable—you want SOME record of your time in a new locale.
