Chinese tourists in Chiang Mai

I live right in the middle of Chiang Mai in the tourist area and wow the number of Chinese tourists has more than doubled since this movie hit the box office. We get many Chinese customers in our restaurant and talking to them it seems the majority of them are here because of the movie. So thanks "Lost in Thailand", but reminder to Chinese, please stop obsessing with your tablet computers while driving motorbikes down the middle of the road ;-) The movie is pretty silly of course, but hopefully makes more people want to visit this already popular northern Thai city. Now I just need a floppy blonde wig and a cactus.

I saw this movie on an airplane. It immediately reminded of the Hangover part II. I was quite surprised to find out that this movie only cost $2.2mm while Hangover II cost $80mm, even thou both movies were filmed largely on locations in Thailand. I wonder how much did the lead actors get paid for this, and Fan Bing Bing or her guest appearance.
