Was going to be in theaters until.....

Netflix bought this film after it was selected to not only play at January's Sundance Film Festival, but it was given the prestigious Closing Night Film slot on the 2nd Friday of the festival.

So, one shouldn't look at this as a "TV/Netflix" movie but as a film that was originally meant for theaters, but nowadays Netflix will buy films like this (as they did "Tallulah" which also played at Sundance) the way companies like Sony Pictures Classics, Miramax/Weinstein Company, and others have done at Sundance for years. Some films they give a little bit of theatrical release at the same time (like "Beasts of No Nation" last fall), but increasingly films like this possibly find more people to watch it on Netflix than if it had been in some theaters in a limited release.

I know that the movie/TV line gets more and more blurred each day, but this would have been a fun one to see in the theater. Especially for the beautiful scenery during the last act of the film.

It wasn't good enough to be shown in cinemas.
