Kristen's taking off clothes

Ohh did anyone see Kristen in that scene where she took off her tshirt and pents and wearing black bra and white penties. She was dam hot in that.

reply

Fortunately, the critics and those holding a Cรฉsar award vote, focused on her interaction with Juliette Binoche, and in her reaction to the very cold water, once she took the plunge.

Rest in peace, Roger Ebert. You were the best.

reply

Gee, you can't focus on BOTH?

She had a lot of nudity in "On the Road" and it didn't hurt her career nearly as much as four dumb-ass "Twilight" movies and all kinds of tiresome tabloid drama. People--epecially AMERICAN people--make way too big of deal out of nudity. Juliette Binoche has done nude scenes in practically every movie for the last 25 years and nobody cares because, whatever their other problems, people in Europe are at least ADULTS.

reply

lazarillo, RE nudity:

Binoche is French and stripped off; Stewart is American and left on her bra and panties (which probably became transparent once they were wet). The actresses did not decide in advance this little bit of cultural criticism; they said they just did the swimming scene. The French are one of the oldest extant cultures on Earth; they are also the most stylish and have the most panache. They are sophisticated and intellectual. They certainly don't see nudity as anything special, as no Puritans attempted to kill off all the natives and establish a Calvinist conformist culture, as in the US. These divergent value systems are still with us today; note that the Tea Party yahoos are still trying to stop American women from having freedom to run their own lives. A French woman would find that highly amusing, then declare it impossible.

Huh?

EDIT to clarify. In the story (not saying anything at all about "real life") there were paparazzi in lots of places ...but not even once any suggestion at all of them hiking around in the mountains. (as noted by the next poster, it's likely this is a misinterpretation of the previous post and is not relevant)

reply

I think the other poster meant that Kristen knew the paps would be there while they actually filmed the swimming scene. No way to keep them totally away as it's outdoors. They would have been across the body of water with telephoto lenses or up the mountain a bit or further down the shore or even in boats out on the water.

lol do you think the actresses, crew and material was brought up on donkey back or something? If it's reachable by a film crew, you can bet your ass that the paps are going to be there as well.

prof are the paparazzi photos from this day. Everyone can find them. August or September 2013. I'm not sure,in which month they filmed this scene.

It was just another of the clues IMO that Valentine was the older character in the play. She is the one who has inhibitions and Maria was free of those inhibitions (stripped nude NBD)like the younger character in the play.

I can't hear you over the volume of my hair.

I love how some people never miss a chance to bash the U.S. "Kristen Stewart looked pretty good in bra and panties" = repressed Puritans, Native American geonocide and The Tea Party. Nice.

reply

if you like tom boys ...she seems to be cold , always unwashed and defiantly calculating ..... her legs remind me of chicken ..so white and not toned .but Stewart has the right connection to stay in HW

If she were as you describe her, she wouldn't be praised by so many professionals in the film industry. She is pursued by many movie producers and directors because of her unique acting talents and work ethic. Read what many of her past producers, directors, and fellow actors have said about her -- that no one works harder, arrives earlier on set, is unbelievably prepared for her on-screen character roles, and is very unique among Hollywood actors, especially at still a relatively young age. She doesn't need any special connections. Movie producers/directors are thrilled when she signs on to their productions.

Rest in peace, Roger Ebert. You were the best.

really , maybe in your world and Directors "love" her , right .

The director of this picture, Olivier Assayas, stated at the Cannes Film Festival, where the Clouds of Sils Maria first premiered, "Kristen, whatever image one has of her, ultimately she's just a great actress by any standard."

what do you want him to say , I work with a moron ...I'm in that business , I know whats going on . Everything needs to bring in the money , talent isn't the main priority anymore .

Olivier Assayas didn't select Kristen for his picture because he thought she might bring along Twilight fans to watch. He chose her precisely because of her unique acting abilities, especially for this role. This picture wasn't made to be a blockbusting moneymaking venture. It's art as much as a movie. My God, this picture is damn hard to see for most people, due to it's extremely limited release. It's mostly only shown in film festival locations. When it opened in the U.S. on April 10, 2015, it opened in only three theaters nationwide. Now it's being release in 1 or 2 theaters in:

New York City, NY
San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, CA
Chicago, IL
Los Angeles, CA
Boston, MA
Washington, DC
Philadelphia, PA
Austin, TX
Seattle, WA

for the last week in April -- maybe 15-30 theaters in total. Even if they're sellouts,
that won't be much revenue.

I suppose you believe her winning the Cesar (French oscar) was due to her "connections," too. The French film industry does not confer many Cesars to non-French actors. In fact, only one American, Adrien Brody (Best Actor, The Pianist, 2003), has ever won a Cesar award. Kristen was the first American actress to win one. She garnered the majority of votes, not because of who her mommy and daddy are, but due to her going toe-to-toe with Juliette Binoche in IMO her best performance to date.

If you don't like her, fine. There are talented actors I also don't particularly like. But to suggest she has no talent and only gets roles through mommy and daddy is ludicrous. Read the reviews for this film to see how many who bashed her for Twilight are now praising her for her mesmerizing performance in 'Clouds.'

Rest in peace, Roger Ebert. You were the best.

I guess some people just have nothing better to do than come on IMDB just to trash people. I really don't get it. I think Kristin did fine. JB, even better. But the chemistry between them was great.

Tell me were all these great performance people go after American Talent or the voice . You hear them once then they are gone. Stewart is connected and that brings her roles . Her Mother and father are there . Stewart doesn't get casted because of her personality or Talent. Lets be perfectly realistic . What role did she ever play with a different approach . Maybe Adventureland was different , still there was NO chemistry with Reynolds , Welcome to the Rileys was horrible , on the Road was dreadful and I saw CoSM and here is Stewart playing Stewart . But you know , I understand why you can't see this woman is so overrated . I won't watch any other Movie she will be in, OK
no offence

"So, what would you like to see on your honeymoon, Mrs. Cord?" "Lots of lovely ceilings."

Her parents had nothing to do with her career. They work as crew. Kristen went for auditions and was turned down like every other child actor until she finally got a role. Her parents tries to dissuade her from becoming an actress because they thought they are all crazy. She performed in a school play and an agent who was present asked her if she wanted to be signed up. You really think David Fincher is going to hire some kid because her parents work in the business? Using 'her parents a got her work' is a go to excuse by trolls and certain fans of a former co-star of hers, but the fact remains that there is no link between her parents and the people Kristen has worked with. It's not like her parents are high flyers in that world. Her dad is a stage manager and her mom worked a script supervisor, they are successful within their fields but it's not like they are A listers with David Fincher coming around for dinner.

I think it's a good idea for you not to watch any more of her movies. You obviously are not a fan and don't want to be one. It must suck to see her success. It's wonderful for her fans ๐Ÿ˜‚

Is that all you look for in a movie, seeing someone nude or in underwear? Why not just save your own time and go straight to porn?

reply

I was so silly watching the movie that I thought: why Juliette Binoche's character takes her clothes off, but not Kristen Stewarts' one? And it all makes sense in the movie and the characters psychology.

There may be different interpretations, but I see it as part of the roles of these two women, and their own contradictions regarding their age, their confidence, their maturity, etc.
