.....but, he was superb and the film was excellent. After looking at the IMDB score (6.6 at time of writing) I was't expecting much. However, this was really good - a very solid 8 or 9 out of 10.

I agree with some that the chess angle could have been done a bit better but it took nothing away from the film whatsoever. I just saw it as a metaphor for what played out until the very end more than an integral part of the story.

Definitely worth watching. And then watching again.

Just watched it now. I enjoyed it but you have to say it was predictable. The thing this movie had going for it were that the main characters were likeable. They drove the movie and I thought the relationships between them were believable. I rated it a 7/10.

Aus, UK, Japan and Russia got it Oct and Nov 2014, Us had it Jan 2015.

It is an enjoyable movie, executed fairly well, if not a little predictable.

Ewan McGregor is an absolutely fantastic actor, and it will come as NO suprise to anybody that he has turned in yet another good performance!

I LOVE Ewan McGregor. Him and Matt Nable were my reasons for seeing it. I thought the movie was excellent. I truly believe that Australian movies always deliver. Or almost always.
