I think it's probably on a floating timeline. Like it's in the present day but the characters never change nor age.

It's an interesting question. I don't think they show a single car, do they? I think that was deliberate: the presence of cars would reveal too much about the time period -- which they wanted to leave unspecified.

I think it's one of those ANY times and NO time deal.

SOrta like Dennis the Menace in the comics... I've read those for about 20 years now... and Time around them changes, but the characters always stay the same, but their interests and hobbies update.

I feel it will get to the point where Mr Wilson will say, "You know in MY DAY we only had DVDs to watch and the internet to play with! lol
