4/10. Here's why / Esta es la razón:
THE PEANUTS MOVIE has the same clever dialogue from the comic strip but, unlike the previous movies, it surrounds it with visual humour. Why? Did the makers think it wouldn't be funny enough? The animation in the other installments was a lot simpler than most movies of the time, and I know it was partly because of the budget, but I still loved it. I'm glad that this movie uses the same overall design (despite the 3D animation). The characters have the same facial expressions, but their body language changed in order to fit the new style of comic timing that's exhaustingly hyperactive. I hated SNOOPY's subplot (in which he writes a novel about a war pilot and imagines himself as the protagonist). Those are only fun to watch when: A) He's in everyday situations acting like a human. B) They're connected to the central conflict. The plot twist about the scores was obvious from the moment CHARLIE BROWN and PEPPERMINT PATTY put their names on their tests. That being said, the movie is funny at times and the ending is sweet. CHARLIE BROWN gets more character development than ever, and Noah Schnapp's performance is very good.

SNOOPY & CHARLIE BROWN: PEANUTS, LA PELÍCULA tiene los mismos diálogos inteligentes de la tira cómica pero, a diferencia de las películas anteriores, lo rodea con humor visual. ¿Por qué? ¿Acaso los realizadores pensaron que no sería lo suficientemente chistoso? La animación en las otras entregas era mucho más simple que la mayoría de las películas de la época y sé que se debía en parte al presupuesto, pero igual me encantaba. Me alegra que esta película use el mismo diseño general (a pesar de la animación 3D). Los personajes tienen las misma expresiones faciales, pero su lenguaje corporal cambió para poder encajar en el nuevo estilo de ritmo cómico que es agotadoramente hiper-activo. Odié la sub-trama de SNOOPY (en la cual él escribe una novela sobre un piloto de guerra y se imagina a sí mismo como el protagonista). Esas solo son divertidas de ver cuando: A) Él está en situaciones cotidianas actuando como un humano. B) Están conectadas al conflicto central. El giro de trama sobre las calificaciones fue obvio desde el momento en que CHARLIE BROWN y PEPPERMINT PATTY pusieron sus nombre en sus exámenes. Habiendo dicho eso, la película es chistosa de repente y el final es tierno. CHARLIE BROWN recibe más desarrollo como personaje que nunca y la actuación de Noah Schnapp es muy buena.
