shareWell, we haven't seen this movie yet as it's still only playing in Japanese theaters now.
However, if there ever is a Hollywood version I rather it'd be based on Gatchaman and not one of the bastardized American versions that also whitewashed the characters so that people watching it thought the characters were white and not Japanese.
Amen to that. Let's see this version first before we start the petition for a US remake!
Like JohnBonDon, I wouldn't object to seeing a Hollywood version but it would definitely need to be based on the original Science Ninja Team Gatchaman animated series and not on the sanitised Battle Of The Planets or G-Force cartoon versions. Otherwise what's the point? We may as well just stay home and watch the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers movie instead!
END OF LINE.
Not really...but Mobile Suit Gundam would be sweet if done right. Hoping Patlabor (now in production) turns out better than Gatchaman...
shareI don't know how well Hollywood would do it but I would have to see the movie because I am huge fan of the series. I am prepared for disappointment
shareWhat possible reason is there to "remake" a movie which hasn't even been released yet in most of the world? I would rather just see this version.
And if anyone was going to remake it - why Hollywood? Wouldn't be one of my first choices.
A US version would be WORSE than the Japanese live action one. And thats a scary thought.
shareWhen you say American version, I would think Battle of the Planets, which I actually think would make for a good movie. Could have a Watchmen or even Dark Knight style and work really well. Even with the colorful 70s outfits. Would rather it be Gatchaman and skip the corny 7-Zark-7 add on.
shareWhy? Japanese cartoon, Japanese movie... they make it better. Samurai X would have sucked had it been remade in holywood...probably Keanu would be casted lol
Sean Bean has not died from Lightsaber related issues yet...just saying
