I think a new law needs to be passed that if you look at a girl's id and it says she is over 18 and there is no reasonable way you could be expected to know otherwise you cannot be prosecuted for statutory rape.
On KGO radio some years ago there was a talk show about a man who committed suicide because of a statutory rape charge that put him on the Megan's Law list. He was hanging out in a BAR where he expected everyone to be 21 which is actually a 3 year safety buffer since 18 is legal for sex.
Well he took a young lady home with him and slept with her and it turned out that she was 17 and in the bar with a fake ID. If my idea for a law was in place he would not have been able to be prosecuted in that incident.
And as I said earlier, he was NOT hanging out in a place where minors are known to be he was hanging out in a place only meant for adults over 21, he was NOT a pedophile and not a real criminal in any moral or ethical sense, only in the strictest sense of the letter of the law (but not the spirit of the law).
Well from what I have read this girl had faked records saying she was 18, so Errol Flynn had every right to assume she was over 18. Now you may think its sleazy and sick for a middle aged man to sleep with an 18 year old girl but its still legal.
Everyone knows Flynn messed around with underage girls (even though girls were a lot more mature back then and were often married and pregnant by 18).
But why don't you at least refer to him as a statutory rapist. A "pedo" is the ancient Greek word for child and a pedoPHILE or child molester is someone sexually interested in prebubescent children. Any straight man with a pair of testicles is attracted to physically mature females whether they're 15, 18, or 35. Someone that actually sleeps with underage but physically mature girls is simply a statutory rapist, not a "pedo".
Also, what makes you think this movie glamorizes him? Just because someone makes for an interesting movie subject doesn't mean you're necessarily glamorizing him.

However,she was all filled out by then,which is why she was very believable as an 18year old. Another topic in itself is the psychological and emotional maturity for a serious (sexual or otherwise) relationship ,of an adolescent. Most adolescents are too ignorant and immature to be capable of having a serious one,especially with an adult male. But then again I know plenty of adults in their 40s who still are emotionally too immature,selfish and ignorant to have any real serious relationship with anyone,hence even age isn't a factor when it comes to maturity to have a relationship. However the majority of teenagers are obviously ill-equipped to have it. So it is not an issue of pedophilia at all,in any way, it is an issue of maturity and responsibility,if Aadland was ready or not to take it on.
