The luchadore masks and Party City costumes make him look like a joke.
I have nothing but respect for someone who's been around as long as he has, but he needs to refine things more and maybe put more money into props and stage attire.
I know he's a DIY kind of dude and doesn't have the funds for more flashy stuff, but the "next level" that he's been working so hard to get to will always elude him until that aspect is addressed.
The thread subject line threw me off, but I agree with you. He compares himself to Kiss. He misses something, talent wise he might as good, but Gene Simmons correctly attributes Kiss' success to marketing themselves as a brand, they were something tangible and reliable. They didn't half ass anything. Music and performance wise he was closer to Gwar, and you know Gwar showed up. Gwar did their thing. They didn't f- around. They went farther than anyone had ever gone.
Thor relied on parlor tricks he developed in the 70s. Which is fine, but you don't get a "next level" by stopping decades in the past with a halfway finished show.
When they got to him at Comic Con in that luchador mask and he's going around telling people he's Thor, I cringed hard. What the hell was he even doing? It would be like Erik Estrada showing up to Comic Con dressed as a firefighter asking people if they remember CHiPs.
